Silent install (no window)

Installs the recommended parts for the computer with no questions. Installing silently means the person deploying it accepts the Software License Agreement for the organization. Activating the key needs the internet.

Windows

:: process on this computer
MeetingRecorder-Setup-<version>.exe --silent --license <key>

:: use the office server (quote the URL: it contains &)
MeetingRecorder-Setup-<version>.exe --silent --license <key> --server-url "https://192.168.1.20:8791/#key=…&fp=…"

A log is written to %TEMP%\MeetingRecorder-setup.log.

Linux

meeting-recorder setup --silent --license <key>
meeting-recorder setup --silent --license <key> --server-url "https://192.168.1.20:8791/#key=…&fp=…"
Exit codeMeaning
0Installed (the app starts).
1A part failed to install (see the log).
2No valid license (missing, wrong or refused key) or a bad server URL; nothing was installed.

--license can be left out when the computer already has an active license.

Office server (Linux)

meeting-recorder setup --server --license <business-key> # make this computer the server (prints the URL)
meeting-recorder server status # what it runs on, queue, computers
meeting-recorder server url # the URL to give the other computers
meeting-recorder server info # details as JSON (speech engine, AI model servers found)
meeting-recorder server devices # computers using it
meeting-recorder server approval on|off # new computers wait for approval (on) or not (off)
meeting-recorder server approve <name|id>
meeting-recorder server remove <name|id>
meeting-recorder server new-url # new sign-up URL; connected computers keep working

The server needs a Business license on that computer. Without one it waits (and checks again every 10 minutes); if the key is turned off later, it stops serving.

License (Linux)

meeting-recorder license # status of this computer's license (JSON)
meeting-recorder license activate <key> # activate (needs internet)
meeting-recorder license check # re-check online now
meeting-recorder license deactivate # free this computer's slot (needs internet)

On Windows, use Settings → License in the library.

Recording (Linux)

Handy for keyboard shortcuts and Stream Deck buttons:

meeting-recorder start # start recording now
meeting-recorder stop # stop and save
meeting-recorder bookmark # mark this moment ★
meeting-recorder notes # open the meeting window
meeting-recorder screen pick # choose another screen or window to record
meeting-recorder screen audio # stop recording the screen (the sound continues)

These only work while a recording is running; otherwise a notification says Not recording.

Other commands (Linux)

meeting-recorder # open the app (the first time: the setup window)
meeting-recorder setup # the setup window again (add or change what's installed)
meeting-recorder uninstall # remove it for this user (recordings and settings are kept)
meeting-recorder version
